Thorpe le Fallows

This is a recent photographic story about the restoration and rededication of the WW1 memorial at Thorpe le Fallows, Lincolnshire.

The memorial stands forgotten in the middle of a Lincolnshire field, most of the village having disappeared over the years.

The Western Front Association are dedicated to not letting the memory of WW1 fade. The rededication involved an education programme at local schools by the 'Khaki Chums' (The Association of Military Remembrance) who were dressed in uniforms of the Lincolnshire Regiment. The final rededication was attended by relatives, veterans of WW2, representatives of the armed forces, local dignitaries and of course the Kharki Chums.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
