This is story about the restoration and re-dedication of the WW1 memorial at Thorpe le Fallows, Lincolnshire. The memorial stands forgotten in the middle of a Lincolnshire field, most of the village having disappeared over the years.
The Western Front Association are dedicated to not letting the memory of WW1 fade. The re-dedication involved an education programme at local schools by the ‘Khaki Chums’ (The Association of Military Remembrance) who were dressed in uniforms of the Lincolnshire Regiment. The final re-dedication was attended by relatives, veterans of WW2, representatives of the armed forces, local dignitaries and of course the Kharki Chums.
