These photographs were taken as part of a reconnaissance visit by Janita Elton of the Usher Gallery and myself to Archangel in Northern Russia to initiate an exchange of artists. We visited the studios of 40 artists and crafts people of the Archangel Artists Union, documenting them and their work. The project was funded by Eastern Arts Board, Usher Gallery and The St Hugh’s Trust.
